Rapport 2007:12 A Market Surveillance of Toys with suspected lead or hazardous magnets
The Swedish Consumer Agency in September 2007 made a market surveillance of toys in three Swedish cities. The control was made due to the Mattel voluntary recall of toys containing lead or hazardous magnets. The project was initiated by the EU Commissions concern that other toys of different brands which may contain lead or easily detachable magnets, which pose serious risks to children, might also be sold on the European market.
The Swedish Consumer agency visited ca 30 shops of different kinds, such as regular toy stores, warehouses and small shops where cheap toys are sold.
